Press Release: Lottery Boost for Hospital Radio

Crosshouse Hospital’s radio service has received two brand new studios thanks to a grant of £12,000 from NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s staff lottery.

The lottery grant has allowed the charity, Hospital Broadcasting Service Ayrshire (HBSA), to refurbish two on-air studios. The volunteer broadcast team, based at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine, can now increase the range and quality of broadcasting to patients.

John Grant, Station Manager, commented: “The help from NHS Ayrshire & Arran has been such a great boost. The old equipment we were using badly needed replaced and this means we can continue to entertain the patients and staff at Crosshouse Hospital.”

HBSA are looking for new volunteers for join their team. So, if you are over 18, enjoy music and can spare a couple of hours one morning a week, this could be for you.
